Sunday Driving, with Beth Pratt

During the month of July, the Dungeness River Valley and the City of Sequim bloom in shades of purple, as the rolling lavender farms all come into bloom.

The Lavender Festival is held July 19 – 21st this year (always the third weekend in July), and it is bigger and better each year! The street fair is being held at Carrie Blake Park, with local craft vendors, music, and food to enjoy.

On the night of the 20th, there will also be a street dance in downtown Sequim as a part of the festivities. To tour the farms, pick up a “Driving Guide” from the Visitor Center, street fair, or download it from the Sequim Lavender Festival website here. Every farm has different treats to share, gifts shops to peruse, and seating near the fields to sit and enjoy the sights.

Even if you choose to stay in the car, you will see and smell lavender around every corner. The festival website is constantly being updated as the date grows near, so check back for new announcements.
