Thursday August 15th - Sunday August 18th is the 100th Clallam County Fair. Come down and pet the 4-H animals, visit with the many exhibitors and artists, come in out of the heat and enjoy a comfy seat & cold beverage at the COMPASS & CLOCK FREE Senior Lounge, and samples all the fair food.
While you're at the Fair checkout the memorabilia display with pictures and items from the Fairs over the years, and definitely plan on watching some of the Rodeo events on Saturday and Sunday....Bareback Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Saddle Brock Riding, Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding and many more activities. There's something for everyone in the family at the Fair.
This year is the 100th time there will be a Clallam County Fair! In celebration they are re-creating some of the moments of early fairs. The first fair held in 1895 featured a gigantic tower of canned salmon. This year they would like to re-create this tower, so they are asking all 4-H youth to participate in a Canned Tuna Drive. It would be great if the community can please collect cans of tuna and deliver them to the extension office at the fairgrounds by August 5th. All donated tuna will be split amongst the county food banks after the fair.
